Mentoring LEADer Champions - My Story My Employability Value Offer is a short course on how to inspire your proteges to begin their career journey.
The main purpose of the course is to help your proteges to understand that a job is temporary whilst a career is long term driven by a strong why and passion. That is why getting into the act of leadership in the service space is an alternative path to be career ready.
Active leaders in the service space starts with a strong why linked to the service of others.
The question is how and where do we find that strong why?

Who are You? The answer that follows I am... determines your relationship with others, how you see yourself and how much you can drive the success of your own career.
In this session you guide your proteges on their self-discovery journey to find the answer to that question. Mentors will then introduce proteges to a tool that can be used to assess their personal brand.
-
During this session the goal is to help proteges to understand a personal statement is a means of letting an employer know what are their beliefs, values and skills before they meet them.
In session 2, students identified three words that describe them. What is driving this belief about themselves?
You will work with the proteges to put together a personal mantra summarising what is driving their chosen career goal or work experience ambition.
-
This is the half-way mark for this module. It is an opportunity to get proteges to refocus on the purpose of The LEAD Mindset experience and the specific leadership challenge for this module. The objective is to check on the progress they have made with their portfolios and make them excited to complete it.
Proteges will be introduced to The LEAD Mindset formula. This formula will share a process with the students to:
- Identify happenings in life that can support the perception they want employers to have of who they are.
- begin to change the leadership conversation about themselves.
- increase their agency (readiness to take action) capability.
-
An opportunity to give authentic feedback on how the course is going.

'Being able to articulate your value offer through public speaking is an asset that will help your success in work and life. This will also help you to standout in interviews'
This is the key message in this session.
The focus will be on the voice to impress on your proteges that every time they present an answer to a question through speaking, they involve their mind, their body and their voice.
Being able to embrace and articulate your story strengthens your voice. You are able to communicate ideas effectively.
-
Proteges will practise their 3 minutes speech answering the question 'Who am I? and what drives me in an unforgettable way.
In this session, they will also review their employability value offer they have uncovered to be presented at the Showcase during the LEAD D2MAD
