LC1 Reflection : Start with the why(3min) Assignment
      Opened: Thursday, 1 August 2024, 12:00 AM

Why leaders start with a why

Setting direction and having a clear purpose. Starting with why increases willingness to do things because it helps you to understand and make sense of a problem.

      It gives purpose and direction.

Once your why is to make a difference to others, you will find there are many problems in the world that are opportunities to take action to do good - this is leadership in the service space.

Can you think of other problems in the world you think you can contribute to solving?

    • The LEAD Mindset Approach To Problem Solving

      Problem Reframing

Your job is to ask bold questions, challenge the obvious, and find new ways to make life better for others. That is  what makes LEADer Champions powerful and  always relevant.

      So instead of saying:

      “That’s just how things are,”

      LEADers say:

      “How could this be better?”
      “What’s really going on here?”
“How can we make a difference?”

Every time you look at a problem this way, you grow your creativity, teamwork, and confidence — and you make the world around you just a little bit brighter.

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

      ·       Look beyond surface-level explanations

      ·       Challenge assumptions about problems

      ·       Apply deeper thinking or think outside the box for the problem you were given to solve.

    • In this video, a group of students applied the stages of problem reframing to find a solution to an unhappy boy. After looking at this example, group leaders, read the problem you have been given to solve and divide up the jobs to find a solution.

REMEMBER YOUR SOLUTION HAS TO BE PRESENTED AS A DIGITAL RESOURCE - VIDEO, AUDIO OR PODCAST.

    • You are now going to apply this way of thinking to the problem you have been given to solve by your school or the company you are working with.

Before continuing read the 'seeing success document' so you are clear on WHAT you are being asked to do.
